There are two ways you can pair Philips Hue lights with Alexa, depending on whether you have a Hue Bridge or use Bluetooth to control your lights.

How to set up Philips Hue with Alexa (with Bluetooth)

  • Set up your Echo device. Make sure you have the latest Echo device software by asking, “Alexa, is your software up to date?”
  • Power on your Philips Hue smart lights. If Alexa or your Alexa app says, “New light found,” your device is ready to use and you can skip step 3.
  • If your Echo device does not discover the light, say, “Alexa, discover devices.” Once your light is discovered, just say, “Alexa, turn on first light.”
