With a Hue Bridge, you get access to the full suite of smart lighting features — and setup is simple.
How to set up a Hue outdoor sensor
Connect with a Hue Bridge
Before you start setup
Is your Hue Bridge connected and added to the Hue app?
Your Hue Bridge should already be plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi, and added to your Hue app. If you haven’t done that yet, first install your Hue Bridge.
Connect an accessory to your Hue system
- Open the Hue app.
- Go to the Settings tab and tap Accessories.
3. Tap Add accessory.
4. Tap Hue outdoor sensor.
5. Remove the wall mount from the back of the outdoor sensor to reveal the setup button.
6. Press and hold the setup button until the outdoor sensor starts to blink.
7. Once the Hue app has found the motion sensor, follow the on-screen instructions. You will be able to select which Room or Zone the motion sensor controls, as well as what happens when they are triggered.
After you finish setup
Install your Hue outdoor sensor
Place the Hue outdoor sensor where you would like it to trigger your lights. If you are unsure about installation, refer to the manual that came with your Hue outdoor sensor.
