Questions & Answers

Do I need a Hue Bridge to use Perifo track lighting?

You don't need a Hue Bridge to control Perifo. You can control Perifo track lighting with Bluetooth, or add a Hue Bridge to unlock the full suite of smart lighting features.

Can I control Perifo track lighting with Bluetooth?

Yes. All Perifo lights can be controlled with Bluetooth.

How do I calculate the maximum number of lights I can add to my Perifo track lighting set-up?

When you're adding lights to your Perifo track lighting set-up, you should keep two things in mind: the wattage of each light and the space the lights, power supply units and connectors take up on the track. Each Perifo power supply unit can power up to 100 W of lights. The number of lights that will physically fit on your rail depends on the total length of your track. Visit our Guide to Perifo smart track lighting page to learn more.

Can I adjust the length of the wall power supply unit's cable?

The Perifo 1-point PSU with plug is not extendable. If you want the cable to be longer, use an extension cable.

What is included in a Perifo track lighting kit?

Perifo track lighting kits have everything you need to get started depending on the set-up you choose: rails (including covers and end caps), power supply unit, connectors and lights. Mounting materials, such as screws, are also included.

Can I make a Perifo track lighting kit an even bigger track lighting setting by adding more lights or rails?

Yes! Perifo track lighting is customisable, meaning you can set it up any way you like. Track lighting kits come with a full set-up, but if you want to extend your rails or add more lights, you can order additional separate parts in the Hue shop.

Which lights work with Perifo track lighting?

Perifo track lighting only works with Perifo lights.

Can I install Perifo track lighting myself?

Yes. Perifo track lighting does not require a certified installer, meaning you can install it yourself. Keep in mind that some installation steps may require two people.

How does Perifo track lighting connect to power?

It depends on the power supply unit you choose. 1-point and 2-point power supply units are wired into your home's electricity via an electrical box on the ceiling. A 1-point power supply unit with a plug is meant for wall set-ups and can be plugged into a standard plug socket.

Can I replace the bulbs in my Perifo lights myself?

Perifo lights' LEDs – which last for many years! – are integrated into the light itself, meaning you cannot change them.

Can I extend a Perifo track lighting kit with additional lights?

Yes! Perifo is customisable, meaning you can add lights or extend the rails at any time. Check out our Guide to Perifo track lighting page for more information.

Does a Perifo track lighting kit come preassembled?

Perifo track lighting kits do not come preassembled. You can find all the components listed on the page for the track lighting kit you purchased.

What mounting materials come with a Perifo track lighting kit?

Perifo track lighting kits come with screws, washers and wall anchors.

How can Perifo lights be moved on the rail?

You can slide the lights from right to left once they are clicked into the rail.

What comes in the box when I order Perifo track lighting?

It depends on the product you get. Each product's page on the website lists what comes in each box. Check the specifications section for a list.

What kind of mounting options do Perifo track lighting rails have?

Perifo track lighting rails can be mounted flush with the wall or ceiling. They can't be recessed or suspended.

What is a Perifo track lighting extension cable and electrical box cover?

The Perifo extension cable and electrical box cover lets you adjust the distance between the electrical box on your ceiling and the Perifo power supply unit. The cable pulls out from the electrical box cover to attach to the Perifo power supply unit, pulling taut without the need for additional hardware.

What's the difference between external and internal corner connectors?

Connectors join rails both mechanically and electrically. Like a battery, all Perifo parts have a positive side and a negative side. All parts are marked with A or B on each end to indicate which ones go together (A always goes with B).

*When a bulb displays "Up to" a certain number of lumens in its specifications, it displays the maximum lumen output of the bulb. It shows how bright the bulb can get at 2700 K (White bulbs) or 4000 K (White ambiance or White and colour ambiance bulbs). Learn more about brightness
