Please refer to section 5 for the current status of you Philips Hue products. To the extent that the terms and conditions of this End of Support policy conflict with the limited warranty applicable to a Philips Hue product, the terms of this End of Support policy shall prevail. From time to time, we may update this End of Support policy. If we do, we will publish the updated policy on our Philips Hue website. 

1. End of Support policy (Philips Hue Bridge)

Important notice on software updates, online services and compatibility

Thank you for your purchase.

The Philips Hue Bridge is designed to be connected to the internet. The Philips Hue Bridge receives software updates directly from Signify (formerly known as Philips Lighting) when connected to a router with internet access and used with the official Philips Hue mobile application.

Signify intends to provide your Philips Hue Bridge with major platform software updates, if any, for a minimum of one (1) year from the date of your purchase from an authorised reseller (except in cases where the hardware is not capable).

In addition, Signify intends to continue to support the Philips Hue Bridge with required security, quality and interoperability updates as well as maintaining compatibility with our online services and the latest version of our Philips Hue mobile application for a minimum total of three (3) years from the date of your purchase from an authorised reseller. *

After these dates, Signify may choose to continue to provide software updates and/or compatibility with online services and/or Philips Hue mobile applications at its discretion. Should software updates and/or compatibility with online services and/or Philips Hue mobile applications however be terminated, we recommend you upgrade to a new version of the Philips Hue Bridge.

As of 30 April 2020, no software updates are made available for the Philips Hue Bridge v1 and compatibility with our online services has been terminated at that time. The Hue Bridge v1 can be only controlled locally via the dedicated Philips Hue Bridge v1 mobile application.

*) Compatibility with our online services requires the Philips Hue Bridge be kept up to date and this compatibility will be maintained for the last 3 released software versions, except in the case of important security updates where support may need to be limited. Compatibility with the official Philips Hue mobile applications requires the Hue Bridge to be on the latest software version at all times.

2. End of Support policy (Philips Hue lights, devices and accessories – other than Philips Hue Bridge)

Important notice on software updates, features, online services and compatibility

Thank you for your purchase.

The Philips Hue lights, devices and accessories (other than Philips Hue Bridge) (in this section 2 referred to as “Product”) can receive software updates directly from Signify (formerly known as Philips Lighting) when connected to the official Philips Hue mobile application with an internet connection.**

Signify intends to provide your Product with major platform software updates, if any, for a minimum of one (1) year from the date of your purchase from an authorised reseller, except in cases where the hardware and/or system are not capable. And, therefore, certain features may not be available for all Products as we will communicate from time to time on our Philips Hue website (as part of this End of Support policy or otherwise) or (if applicable) in our official Philips Hue mobile app.

In addition, Signify intends to continue to support your Products with required security, quality and interoperability updates as well as maintaining compatibility with our online services, the latest version of our Philips Hue bridge (when applicable) and the latest version of the Philips Hue mobile application for a minimum total of five (5) years from the date of your purchase from an authorised reseller. *

After this date, Signify may choose to continue to provide software updates and/or compatibility with online services and/or mobile applications for your Product at its discretion. Should software updates and/or compatibility with online services and/or mobile applications however be terminated, we recommend you upgrade to a new generation of the product.

** As the Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box is directly connected to Wi-Fi itself, it automatically updates to the latest software version. To ensure compatibility with the Philips Hue mobile applications, the Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box needs to be kept up to date.

*) Compatibility with our online services requires the Philips Hue Bridge be kept up to date and this compatibility will be maintained for the last three (3) released software versions, except in the case of important security updates where support may need to be limited. Compatibility with the official Hue mobile applications requires the Hue Bridge to be on the latest software version at all times.

3. End of Support policy (Philips Hue mobile applications)

In order to help ensure that our customers continue to receive the best-connected lighting performance experience possible, new and improved versions of the Philips Hue mobile applications are introduced on a regular basis. We reserve the right to remove, move, change or combine features from our mobile applications without notice. We may also occasionally choose to retire a mobile application if we deem its standalone functionality is no longer relevant. In these cases, we will announce its retirement [3 months] in advance on this end of support page. Updates for retired mobile applications will be discontinued and the mobile applications will no longer be available to download.

We aim to support our Philips Hue mobile applications on at least the last 2 major revisions of the iOS and Android operating systems.

Since April 30 2020, no software updates are made available for the Hue Bridge v1 mobile application and compatibility with our online services has been terminated at that time. Subsequently, the dedicated Philips Hue Bridge v1 mobile application will go out of support and be retired on 30 April 2022. Until being retired, the Philips Hue Bridge v1 mobile application will be available on https://www.philips-hue.com/app.
