How can I hide LED strip lights on the ceiling?
Lightstrips are not meant to be seen directly — the provide indirect lighting. For the best effects, try to hide your lightstrip.
If you prefer a more subtle look, a ceiling cove can hide an LED strip light while still showing off its beautiful glow. While some homes have ceiling coves built in, many don’t. If your home doesn’t have one, create one with decorative covers, a cove lighting kit, or crown molding.
False ceilings — also called dropped ceilings — hang just below the original ceiling, creating the perfect spot to tuck away a smart LED strip light. Place lightstrips behind the lips of the false ceiling where the original ceiling peeks through. If they're installed horizontally, position your strips so that they shine upwards. If they’re installed vertically, face them so that they cast their light to the side.
