If you don’t have this, get it. It’s amazing. It’s so much brighter than any of the older stuff. It bends very easily so if your tv isn’t completely flat on the back you’ll have no issues. Installation was a piece of cake. The app even has step by step pictures on how to install it. I had already mounted it before I realized this, but it’s pretty self explanatory. Note that the power input needs to be on the left side of you are facing the tv. I wish this was swappable but it all worked out. Another thing, it would be nice if they added the sync on/off functionality to the standard hue app. Instead you need the hue sync app. I have too many apps! Actually you can stop the sync from the standard app, but you can’t start it. Odd. All in all I’m very happy. Glad my pre-order arrived before Halloween because even just as a ambient light this thing is awesome.

I feel like I was deceived as the video I watched made it seem as if the colors were all sound the TV when actually it’s just the top and two sides. Don’t understand why they wouldn’t another 5o inches to complete the look. Also, the directions say if your TV is bigger move it closed to the middle?!?!? Isn’t that why I’m buying a 65inch??? It’s like they make it a bit smaller to save $$$. But once you get it up & connected with the sync it is soooo coool! I would totally buy again just wish they’d fix the two issues mentioned above.

Wow! I'm blown away with how awesome this transforms my tv viewing into an immersive experience! Since not going to movie theaters these days, I decided to build onto my home theater and this was the final piece to the puzzle. I already had surround sound but was intrigued by surround lighting. Now it's hard to watch a tv without a Play Gradient Lightstrip, it just doesn't look right. The ease of setting up through the app was a plus and partnering it with my existing Hue bulbs gave me that full immersion feeling I was looking for. I am so glad I was able to add this to my system! Side note: The lightstrip doesn't go around the bottom of the TV so I added two Play Lightbars to the bottom of the TV to fill the bottom darkness. The center channel speaker separates them or I would have gotten three.

I used to have a Philips ambi light tv way back in the day so I'm glad I can get something way better now a days, I now have 6 lights in my living room it makes it feel like an arcade and more immersive for gaming and movies I read the comments of the complaints before ordering I simply was very careful with it and made a plate out of tempered board and works very well I just made some hollow areas to not put a lot of weight on the tv(Philips needs to copy me and sell this) I spent an additional 20 sum dollars to make it not including the tools needed since I already had them very pleased will buy another one for my bedroom if this one continues working well the only thing that deserves a 1 star is the misinformation about the shipping it took a full week and 1 day instead of 2 to 4 business days

The gradient light strip makes watching shows so much more fun. I had a little trouble finding the right distance from the edge of the TV to install it, but once I got that sorted, the installation was a breeze. It helps that I already had a sync box so I didn't have to set it up. I'm sure we will eventually get used to it, but right now there is at least once a night where I marvel at how enjoyable the wall of color synced with the TV is. I waited a long time for the 55" light strip to come back into stock and the wait was worth it. My only small nit is that I wish it went around the bottom of the TV.
