What tools do I need to install the Hue Secure doorbell?

To install the doorbell you will need a Pencil, Philips screwdriver, Power drill, 6mm masonry bit, Rubber mallet or hammer and a Safety screw torx key (included).

Does the Hue Secure doorbell have a battery (backup)?

The Hue wired doorbell doesn't inlcude a battery, it is designed to be permantly powered by low voltage doorbell systems.

Does the Hue Secure doorbell work with my existing doorbell (chime)?

The Hue wired doorbell is not compatible with your existing doorbell (chime). We recommend adding the easy to install Hue Smart chime which allows you to hear the doorbell anywhere in your home, select tones and create schedules when you want to hear the doorbell and when you want to mute it (for example during the night)

Can I install my Hue Secure doorbell myself or do I need an electrician?

We designed the installation steps to be as easy as possible. Remember to turn-off your circuit breaker before doing any electrical work. If you don’t feel comfortable during the installation, we recommend hiring a qualified electrician for support.

What is the field of view of the camera?

The field of view is >180 degrees. This will help to detect packages that are placed near the door and have a good view who is in front of your door.

What is the resolution of the camera?

The Camera resolution is 2K QHD in a 1:1 ratio 1984x1984 pixels.

Does the Hue Secure doorbell require a Bridge?

We recommend adding a Bridge for the full options and the best Hue has to offer such as turning on lights when the camera detects motion or let the lights blink when somebody presses your doorbell, but you can already start using the Wired doorbell, and other camera's without having a Bridge.

Is the doorbell weatherproof?

Yes, we designed the doorbell to be permanently used outdoors with an IP54 rating.
