What is the difference between the Lily and the Lily XL?

Size and lumen output. Both the Lily spotlight and Lily XL spotlights are Philips Hue White and color ambiance smart outdoor spotlights. The Lily spotlight has a lumen output of 600 and is smaller in stature than the Lily XL, which offers a lumen output of 1050.

We just love these lights. They are great but my only complaint is they are very expensive. I feel like these can be half the price. I have a fairly large yard but nothing crazy and even with $3,000 of lighting there still needs to be more. So basically for 4-5K I think you can have your backyard up to par. I love the lights but it really hurt our pocketbook to do it right.

These lights are beautifully designed and the lights themselves are a quality build. The problem with the system, and why I’m returning it, is the wireless control implementation. Instead of building the “brain” into the power supply and sending control signals through the line, each light has its own Zigbee receiver. Supposedly each light acts as a repeater for the control signals, but in actual use it didn’t seem to work well. The light closest to my house connected OK, but lights further from the hub failed to connect, even though they should have been I range of one another. If you have a small yard, this system might work for you, but anything more than 20 feet or so from the Hue hub and you’re going to have problems.
Be careful about investing in Hue products

These lights are okay. But the app is fairly lousy. Absolutely not intuitive and even after using it for years, I struggle to get it to do what I want. I’m considering ditching my many hue lights because of the app.
Need to be brighter.

They are overall a good product, the only bad thing about them is I wish they were brighter. I am using them to illuminate a 20 foot flag pole.

Build quality seems appropriate. However, these lights are much dimmer than I would have hoped for or expected, even at 100% brightness.
