Philips Hue Lightguide bulbs themselves are clear. They are also White and color ambiance, meaning they can shine in millions of colors of light. They work just like any other Philips Hue color-capable smart bulb — for example, you can add them to your Entertainment areas.
Are Lightguide bulbs only for decorative purposes or can I use them for functional lighting?
You can use Lightguide bulbs however you like! They're perfect for mood lighting, and they also work well for functional and task lighting.
What kind of lamp should I use with Lightguide bulbs?
We offer a specially designed pendant light cord Lightguide bulbs (sold separately), which fits perfectly with the bulb. If you'd like to place Lightguide bulbs in a table or floor lamp, any lamp will work provided it has the same fitting (E26/E27).
Can I use the Lightguide bulb in outdoor and/or damp locations?
Lightguide bulbs are rated for indoor environments or in areas with up to 75% relative humidity only. They shouldn't be used outdoors or in damp locations.
